December 2025
Just as important as producing a public health bulletin (PHB) is making it freely accessible, which is accomplished via its website. Bangladesh’s National Bulletin of Public Health (NBPH) launched a new website in December 2025 to more efficiently deliver public health information to health workers and the public and to monitor interest.
All PHB websites supported by the Bloomberg Philanthropies Data for Health Initiative are assessed using the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, which are designed to promote accessibility. Although the NBPH’s website is still under development, it meets all the relevant principles, including aims and scope, current and archived issues, peer-review policy and instructions for authors. These principles are outlined in the PHB Quality Scorecard.
In addition to accessibility, the NBPH’s website is also used to monitor interest in the bulletin by tracking the number of visits, the length of time of each visit and the pages visited. The new website makes it easier for the editorial team to collect these data via Google Analytics. Each time an issue is published, an email with links to each article will be sent to all staff of the Directorate General of Health Services and the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research, the producer of the NBPH. In addition, announcements with the links are also circulated via the bulletin’s WhatsApp Channel and other social media platforms.
All issues are published in Bangla and English and are available on the NBPH’s website, nbph.iedcr.gov.bd. As Bangladesh’s NPHB continues to evolve, the editorial team monitors web traffic to better understand its readership. They are working to ensure that actionable public health information reaches those who need it, including public health professionals, policymakers, clinicians, researchers, academia and the public.
