September 2025
Data Impact’s Data to Policy (D2P) enhancement activities aimed to promote country-led advancement and adoption of policy recommendations developed through D2P while strengthening the health economic analysis of policy options. In September 2025, in collaboration with its Policy Accelerator Program, Vital Strategies launched eight new online modules, which provide an overview of the IMPACT Framework for Policy Advancement. These new online modules will enable greater reach and more efficient support for policy advancement in countries. Specifically, they will be used to provide a shared framework and methods for policy advancement across the DIP global team, conduct training on policy advancement with D2P policy teams, and support policy advancement efforts linked to other DIP activities that result in concrete policy recommendations, such as public health reports. They will also serve as a shared resource for other Vital Strategies programs.
As part of the health economics component, Vital Strategies supported the development of additional features in the open-source Amua modeling platform which are particularly relevant to LMICs aswell as Vanderbilt University’sQuick Start guide for economic evaluation. In September, the latest version of Amua was released, incorporating French and Spanish-language versions of the software as well as new features enabling modeling of disability-adjusted life years (DALYs). The software update also enables rapid translation into other languages. The French and Spanish versions will be used in upcoming D2Pprograms in Paraguay, Bolivia, Cameroon and Sénégal.
